Dr. Fidel Saenz de Ormijana holds an MS degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain), and MS and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He has 40 years’ design experience in water resources and transportation, spanning several continents including 16 years practice in North America. In his present position as Ferrovial Construction’s Chief Technical Officer, and member of the Board of Directors, he has engineering and technical responsibility over all company’s activities worldwide. He has authored over twenty publications and been active in academia, including six years as professor in the College of Civil Engineering (Polytechnic University, Madrid). His major expertise areas are hydraulic and dam engineering, civil and roadway design, and design and value engineering management, especially in the context of Public-Private Partnership and Design-Build projects.
