Vincenzo Ercole Salazar Sarsfield is a senior Italian diplomat with more than 27 years of experience in economic relations, strategic investments, and international infrastructure development across over 40 countries. He currently serves as Global Head for Infrastructure at both the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the Italian Association of Infrastructure and Construction Companies (ANCE), representing a portfolio of €110 billion in works and concessions in around 80 countries. He also directs the Working Group on International Development Co-operation at Confindustria, strengthening the role of corporates and SMEs in Italy’s international development efforts.

Over the past five years, Vincenzo has led more than 50 economic missions in 35+ countries, helping over 100 companies expand globally, establish joint ventures, and build partnerships with governments and multinational conglomerates. Previously, he headed the MFA’s engagement with the Belt and Road Initiative, fostering alliances between Italian companies, Chinese conglomerates, and local firms on complex infrastructure projects. A frequent speaker at international economic forums, he brings unique insights on infrastructure investment and cross-border business cooperation.

In addition to his diplomatic career, Vincenzo Ercole Salazar Sarsfield has served on the boards of several organisations, including SIMEST’s Investment Committee, and co-created the Italian government’s platform infomercatiesteri.it to support national firms in accessing foreign markets. He holds a magna cum laude degree in Economics, Business and Finance, along with postgraduate specialisations in International Relations and EU Economics and Law.
