Hugo Fonseca is a Chartered Civil Engineer with 25 years’ experience in the engineering and construction industry, during which he led teams on a wide range of projects in various continents. From coastal and marine works to large scale developments, complex infrastructures schemes, residential and commercial building complexes, and hospitality projects including high rises. Hugo has been appointed to steer projects back on track or to reset relationships between parties, facilitating disputes avoidance and resolution, and is regularly expert witness in dispute resolution processes. Hugo holds a MSc in Civil Engineering, an LLM in Construction Law and Arbitration and was appointed in 2022 to the FIDIC President’s List of Approved Adjudicators. He is one of the chairperson of FIDIC’s Task Group 23 preparing NetZero guidance for the FIDIC Contract Suite.
