Frank Kehlenbach is the Director of European International Contractors (EIC), an industry federation founded in 1970 that unites construction trade associations from fifteen European countries and that represents the collective interests of Europe’s international contractors in questions relating to their international construction activities. The aggregated international turnover of construction companies associated with EIC’s Member Federations amounts to some €200 billion per year, according to the ENR ‘Top 250 International Contractors’ Statistics.
EIC liaises with EU Institutions, Multilateral Development Banks and with industry partners and advocates fair international competition based on value-for-money procurement, balanced contract conditions, innovative project delivery schemes and sustainable construction methods. Since many decades, EIC is a ‘friendly reviewer’ of the FIDIC standard forms of contract and has published EIC commentaries on the FIDIC 1999 and 2017 editions.
