Tim Murphy is currently Executive Vice President & Chief Strategic Affairs Officer with Aecon Group Inc. He has more than three decades of legal and management experience. For the past two and a half years, he has served as the CEO and Managing Partner of McMillan LLP, a leading Canadian business law firm, after serving six years on the firm’s Executive Committee. He was also Managing Director of McMillan Vantage Public Affairs, a leading government relations and communications advisory practice serving the Canadian market. Tim has extensive experience in public and private transactions, especially in infrastructure, project finance, energy, and public private partnerships. He has served as Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Canada, Chief of Staff to the Finance Minister of Canada and as a Member of Provincial Parliament in Ontario. Additionally, he has held various board positions, authored books on P3s and construction law and taught at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. He is highly regarded as a leading lawyer and frequent commentator on public affairs. Tim holds a Master of Laws from York University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto.
