FIDIC's federation programme boasts a list of events for FIDIC members to network and discuss the implementation of FIDIC's Strategic Priorities and future plans.

  • The Future Leaders Management Certificate Course
  • Plenum presentation of participants 
  • Introduction to 2-day pre-conference programme

09:15 - 10:00 CET

  • Trainer-led review of essential concepts leading to a Q and A session of 30 minutes  
  • Discussion and selection of breakout meeting subjects, (e.g. small consulting practice, hire and organize staff, a marketing plan, calculate needed working capital, develop a one-year budget for a practice.)
  • Formation of breakout meeting groups according to retained subjects.

10:00 - 10:15 CET - Pause

10:15 - 11:45 CET

  • Breakout meetings for 2 or 3 groups – subjects as agreed above, choose reporter/note-taker for each group.

11:45 - 12.30 CET

  • Reporting by groups to Plenum on results of discussions

12:30 - 13: 30 CET - Lunch break

13:30 - 15:30 CET

  • “Open Microphone Charette” (charette: “stakeholders in a project attempt to resolve conflicts and map solutions”). Participants choose major subjects of further interest, including how they see these in their own careers.  Hint by Trainers about next day’s work.

  • Introduction to Future Leaders Workshop (FLW) by Ben Novak and Dr. Michele Kruger
  • Explanatory Note:  In an opportunity to work on a project, attendees at the FLMC pre-conference sessions will have the whole of Saturday to prepare a presentation to the entire conference attendees on a subject of their choice, deciding how to manage the tasks, how to structure the presentation for a 20-30 minute time slot. A fabulous opportunity to network, get to know each other and structure an exciting presentation. A role for all to participate according to their talents and preferences.
  • Methodology suggested by Trainers but open to change (RC AS MK))

Open discussions among Chairs and Vice Chairs of FIDIC Committees and invited speakers – Registration is required 

The Committee meeting will discuss key activities of FIDIC working committees and exchange with the audience on industry challenges to identify future activities and tasks. 

  • Introduction: Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, FIDIC CEO 
  • Moderator: Catherine Karakatsanis, FIDIC Vice President and Chair of the FIDIC Chairpersons Meeting 
  • Speakers: FIDIC Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs 

Participants: FIDIC member association representatives, associate members, affiliates, committee members, staff working in member firms, regional group representatives, FIDIC Board members and Past Presidents.  

Theme: FIDIC Working Committees and Council Chairs and Vice Chairs will discuss functions and strategic objectives to serve FIDIC members and the infrastructure industry. Participants to this session will receive first-hand information from revamped FIDIC working groups about their plans on how to tackle the major challenges of the industry.

  1. Business challenges in the consulting engineering industry 
  2. How FIDIC members can respond to challenges 
  3. FIDIC response to address and find solution to challenges
