Biography - A civil engineer (EPFL) and an MBA graduate, Pierre Epars joined BG in 1989. He initially worked in Water and Environment, moving into Infrastructure before returning to the building field. He became the CEO in 2018. BG Consulting Engineers is one of the leading firms in Switzerland, with over 700 people in two primary markets: Switzerland and France. Founded in 1954 and owned by the collaborators, BG has skills and references in 4 sectors: Infrastructure and Transportation, Environment, Building and Energy. BG participates in large projects, such as the Grand Paris Subway, the Lyon-Turin tunnel, a waste-to-energy plant in Paris, the hydropower plant of Nant-de-Drance, the new Geneva underground railway and the headquarters of Pictet in Geneva. He has overseen numerous significant projects for the Group in the different fields of activities for BG, including underground works, geotechnical, environmental, and real estate developments. These various competencies have given him an overall view of the construction sector in Switzerland and France. He brings expertise in all the Group’s areas of activity, and his business sense, vision, linguistic skills and extensive knowledge of the Swiss, French and international markets are widely appreciated. Pierre Epars is strongly involved in supporting engineering and the economy. He is a member of the board of USIC, the Swiss association of engineering companies, also supporting the civil engineering department of EPFL and the HEIG-VD, the engineering and management school of Yverdon-les-Bains and defending the economy as a member of the direction of the Economic Chamber of Canton de Vaud.
