As the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Building) for the Housing & Development Board (HDB) of Singapore, Dr Wong leads the five Building Groups in the development of HDB’s towns and estates, from the strategic urban planning, infrastructure planning, to the design, construction and contracts management of HDB building projects. Guided by Dr Wong, the groups also carry out social and economic research and surveys to improve our town plans and building designs, as well as research on innovative, cost-effective solutions and technologies to drive construction productivity, create a better living environment and achieve greater sustainability.

With his experience and passion in driving smart technology and Research & Innovation efforts in the Built Environment, Dr Wong assumes a concurrent appointment as HDB’s Chief Science & Technology Officer. With digitalization and advanced technologies being a key strategic growth area, he will lead HDB Groups to oversee and drive HDB’s Science, Technology & Engineering (STE) master planning efforts.
