Mr Lee envisages Obayashi Singapore in becoming the most attractive and innovative main contractor in Singapore. To inculcate an innovative culture, an Innovation Team spearheaded by Mr Lee was established to implement BIM/ VDC/ IDD that would be applied consistently on its construction projects and to utilize innovative IDD processes and new technology to increase the Company’s efficiency. In recognition of the Company’s efforts in BIM adoption, Obayashi Singapore was awarded BCA BIM Award (Platinum) in 2016.

In 2021, an ERP system was implemented to automate and simplify activities across the Company such as project budget and costing, contractual, financial, and HR processes. Moving forward, Obayashi Singapore targets to implement AI and robotics in all its projects.
Mr Lee also firmly believes in Environment, Social and Governance (ESG). Apart from partnering with non-profit organizations in caring for the environment and contributing to the society, Obayashi Singapore continuously partners with BCA and local educational institutions in nurturing and seeking young local talents. In 2021, Mr Lee initiates an Initial Professional Development Framework for its Engineers, providing a core foundation of information on skills, knowledge and understanding for the engineers’ career development.
Over the years, Mr Lee has challenged and successfully led the Company in taking on and completing unique and complex projects, such as mixed development like Duo, Jewel, Mandai Bird Park, and numerous data centre projects. This is also in line with Obayashi Headquarters’ vision in going beyond and embarking onto new realms. Today, in this competitive built environment industry, Mr Lee continues to play an active role in seeking out new projects and taking Obayashi Singapore in achieving its next milestone.
Mr Lee holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Hons) from the National University of Singapore.
