Daniel Hornett, a professional civil engineer, works to integrate engineering standards and conservation principles so humans, ecosystems, and biodiversity thrive. As the senior program officer for the sustainable infrastructure initiative at WWF-US, he provides technical assistance to members of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded Asia’s Linear Infrastructure safeGuarding Nature (ALIGN) Project, helping the team collaborate with international institutions to reach linear infrastructure practitioners across Asia. With experience in both the public and private sectors, Daniel’s expertise includes land-use planning, environmental impact assessments, best management practices for rural and hillside construction projects, and damage and risk assessments following climate-related disasters.
