Mandakini Karki is Technical Director at a consulting firm Soil Test P. Ltd based in Nepal which has long standing history of 45 years of excellence in providing engineering services. She is the Vice President of Nepal Geotechnical Society (NGS) and Deputy General Secretary at Society of Consulting Architectural and Engineering Firms (SCAEF Nepal). She continues her dedication in enhancing engineering consulting and geotechnical sector with her advocacy of co-existence within the nature; Not Against!

She holds double degree in Economics/Social sciences and Civil Engineering. Her master’s degree is in Geotechnical Engineering. She is currently pursuing her law degree.

Her far-reaching experience encompasses both national and international projects, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of various infrastructure projects.

She practices as a geotechnical expert and a project lead. She is managing national and international infrastructure projects under SASEC (South Asia Subregional Economic Cooperation Road Connectivity), ACCESS (Accelerating Nepal’s Regional Transport and Trade Connectivity). Her geotechnical practices in Australia includes Pacific Highway Upgrade, Oxley Highway to Kempsey, Design of Western Sydney Airport, along with operations control in Sydney Light Rail.

Ms Karki’s diversified experiences makes her an appreciated advocate in creating a GREEN engineering industry. Her ability to blend theoretical knowledge with practical experiences enables her to tackle complex engineering challenges with confidence and precision. Her perseverance for a holistic infrastructure growth calls for a nature friendly development, be it buildings, roads, bridges, canals, railways, transmission lines, hydropower or any. Her passion has led her to take up a role as a conference director for FIDIC Asia Pacific conference 2024, “Governance for Climate Shocks” taking place in November in Nepal and hosted by SCAEF Nepal.
