Max is a Technical Director in AECOM’s nature business with four decades of experience as a professional ecologist specialising in leading, managing and contributing to large and challenging projects involving aspects of biodiversity and ecology in the United Kingdom and abroad.

This has included ecological appraisals, the role of ecology in sustainable development, biodiversity offsetting and research leading to developing and advising on nature positive management strategies and implementation.

Much of this work was founded on expertise and experience built up when Professor of Ecology at the University of Hertfordshire. Max has extensive experience providing ecological solutions to clients in a wide range of sectors, has recently completed his term as President of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and has authored a variety of publications.
