Principal Consultant (prior Senior Policy Director) to the American Council of Engineering Companies, since 2008. Focused on best practices, government policies, procurement and industry advocacy, regulations, and international programs.

Previous private sector experience includes (36-years) of ownership/senior officer positions with major international A&E and E&C firms, as well as starting and growing two engineering consulting firms. His positions involved providing direct project, program, and corporate management of multiple simultaneous efforts requiring varied technical skills, globally. One contract involved directing the program management of 26+ new embassies for the U.S. State Department.

Prior public sector service included leading the design and construction of the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve (U.S. Department of Energy), coordinating the budget planning cycle (U.S. Secretary of Defense), and managing major weapons acquisition programs (including nuclear powered ships) (U.S. Navy).

Mark’s education includes a BS degree (with honors) from Pratt Institute, MS degree from the University of Southern California, and advanced engineering courses at New York University and the University of Maryland. He is a graduate of the Defense Systems Management College, Program Management Course.

When not involved with professional work, Mark and his wife Linda divide their time between spoiling grandchildren and traveling the World.
