Do You Need a Visa?

Most international travellers require a visa to enter India. Visa eligibility depends on your nationality. To check your specific requirements and eligibility for an e-Conference Visa, please visit the official Government of India website:

If your country is not eligible for an e-Visa, you must apply for a regular Conference Visa through the nearest Indian Embassy or Consulate.

Visa Types

For conference delegates, a e-Conference Visa preferred option for eligible nationalities attending the conference. This visa is issued for short-term visits, including attending conferences, meetings, and events. If your country is not eligible for the e-Visa scheme, you must apply through your local Indian Mission.

General Visa Requirements:

To apply for a Indian e-Conference Visa, you will typically need:

✔ A valid passport (with at least two blank pages and validity of six months from date of arrival)
✔Completed online visa application form
✔Recent passport-size photograph (square format, light background, no spectacles)
✔ Proof of travel arrangements (flight itinerary)
✔ Hotel booking confirmation or proof of accommodation
✔ Official Invitation Letter from FIDIC
✔ MEA Clearance Letter
✔ MHA Approval Letter
✔ Bank statements or proof of sufficient funds
✔ Visa application fee (varies by country)
✔ Medical or travel insurance (recommended)

Request a Visa Invitation Letter

Attendees can request a Visa Invitation Letter when registering for the conference. Please ensure that all necessary details are provided during the registration process to avoid delays.

The Visa invitation letter and supporting documents will include:
✔ Confirmation of your participation in the FIDIC Global Infrastructure Conference 2026 with event details and personal information. 
✔ Government clearance letters from Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). These government clearance letters are mandatory for your visa application.

Important: The invitation letter does not guarantee visa approval. It is the responsibility of the attendee to apply and secure their visa. 

Government Clearance Process

Once your passport details and full payment of your conference registration have been received, the government clearance process will begin.

  1. The Events Team will submit your information to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to request political clearance.

  2. The application is then reviewed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for approval.

  3. After both approvals are granted, you will receive:

  • Official Invitation Letter

  • MEA Clearance Letter

  • MHA Approval Letter

     4. You can proceed with your visa application, after receiving these documents.
